Getting Started in the Weissman Foundry

Step 1: Attend an Orientation

Before taking a training, you have to learn the rules of the space and get set up in our database! We run Orientations every day of the week.

Saturday + Sunday : 2:15pm, 4:15pm, 6:15pm

Monday - Friday : 12:15pm, 2:15pm, 4:15pm, 6:15pm

Check in with the Scout at the Scout Desk in the Workroom at any of the above times to take the Orientation.

 Step 2: Sign The Waiver

In a nutshell, this covers the Weissman Foundry if any accidents occur during normal use. Please be safe and be conscious of the decisions you make while using Foundry tools and equipment to limit injury. You’ll sign this during any Orientation Tour, but are welcome to pre-sign if you prefer.

 Step 3: Use the space!

That’s it — you’re finished! Congrats!! We look forward to seeing you soon!

We have a straightforward process for you to follow if you want to use the Weissman Foundry. For our primary workspace: please just drop in! If you are interested in using one of our Studio spaces, we ask that you take our in-person Orientation and tour. These tours are held daily, 15 minutes before all trainings, and require no signup. Find out when our upcoming tool trainings are here.

Our orientation process will take about 15 minutes, and should give you a better understanding of the resources available to you while you are in the building. You’ll learn how to signup for trainings or events, and you’ll have a better understanding of how we help encourage interactions between the BOW schools.
